Hot tubs, fireplaces and full kitchens: what Fraser vacation homes actually come with

The short answer: hot tubs, fireplaces, full kitchens and mountain views

If you look at the Fraser homes we manage, five things turn up again and again: a hot tub, a fireplace, heating, a full kitchen, and a mountain view out the windows. Wi-Fi, a washer and dryer, a TV, and a garage are close behind. That's the honest shape of a Fraser rental. It's a valley town at the foot of the ski hill, cold in winter, and the houses were built and furnished by people who knew that.

Every one of the Fraser homes in our inventory that we've reviewed for this page is a single-family house rather than a condo or a room in a building, and each one is set up to be cooked in and lived in rather than just slept in. Sizes run from a two-bedroom that sleeps six up to a five-bedroom that sleeps thirteen, and the amenity list barely thins out as the houses get smaller. The two-bedroom carries the same hot tub, fireplace, dishwasher and garage as the bigger places.

Here's what shows up across the Fraser houses we've checked:

Hot tub and fireplace in all five

Heating, Wi-Fi, TV in all five

Full kitchen with oven, stove, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, dishes, coffee maker, toaster, ice maker and a spice rack

Washer and dryer in the house, plus a laundromat nearby

Garage and a BBQ area

Mountain view, bath and bed linens, hair dryer, ironing board

Crib and high chair for families travelling with a baby

Those five houses are a sample of a larger Fraser portfolio, so treat the list as what to expect rather than a guarantee attached to any particular booking. Amenities are listed on each property page.

Cooking, laundry and the ordinary business of a week in the mountains

The kitchens are the part guests underrate until they arrive. In Fraser you're an easy drive from Winter Park Resort, and after a full day out nobody wants to go find dinner. So the Fraser houses come with an oven, a stove, a fridge, a microwave, a dishwasher, a coffee maker and a toaster, plus dishes and a starter set of spices, which saves you buying a jar of cumin you'll use once.

Laundry is the other one. Ski clothes get wet, kids fall in creeks, and a week's worth of layers adds up fast. Each of these homes has its own washer and dryer, with a laundromat nearby if you're washing for a crowd. Ice makers matter more than they sound: at this altitude people drink a lot of water, and a house full of guests goes through ice.

A few of the houses have an EV charger, which is worth knowing if you're driving up US 40 over Berthoud Pass from the Front Range and would rather not plan a stop. The three-bedroom that sleeps eight, Brook Tranquil, is one of ours with a charger and a garage, so the car sits inside overnight and starts in the morning.

What makes these houses restful when the weather turns

The hot tub does most of the work. Fraser sits in a cold pocket of the Colorado high country, and a hot tub on a clear night with the mountains in silhouette is why a lot of people book a house instead of a hotel room. Every Fraser home we've reviewed for this page lists one.

Inside, a fireplace and central heating cover the rest. The fireplace is where the group ends up after dinner, and the heating is not optional here between November and April. Several homes also list a massage table, which is unusual enough to be worth mentioning: if you've booked a wellness weekend or you're bringing in a therapist, the equipment is already in the house. Private chef service is listed on these homes too, which is a good option for a birthday or an anniversary when nobody wants to be the one at the stove.

And the views. Mountain view is listed on every Fraser house here, which follows from the geography: the valley is ringed by high ground, and the Winter Park ski terrain is close.

Booking for eight, twelve or more

Group houses in Fraser tend to add two things: somewhere to eat together and somewhere for people to entertain themselves indoors. Every one of these homes has a proper dining table, which sounds obvious until you've tried to seat twelve at a breakfast bar.

For indoor entertainment, the four-bedroom that sleeps twelve is the one to look at first. It's a dedicated game room with a foosball table and a game console, which is the difference between a good afternoon and a long one when the snow is coming down sideways. The five-bedroom sleeping thirteen has a game console too, along with a dedicated workspace if someone in the party has to log on for a couple of hours.

The BBQ area comes into its own in summer, when Fraser turns into a mountain-biking and hiking town and the evenings stay light. Cribs and high chairs are listed across these houses, so a family group with a toddler doesn't have to travel with the whole nursery.

Questions to ask us before you book

Read the amenity list on the specific property page, then ask about the things a list can't tell you. Whether the hot tub is on a covered deck or open to the sky. How the garage works when there's snow banked up. Which bedroom has the workspace in it. Whether the crib is a travel cot or a full one.

Those questions are the reason to book direct. You're talking to the team that runs the house, not a call centre reading the same listing you're reading, and we can check.

Winter Park Escapes offers comfortable vacation homes for relaxing getaways and memorable trips, with direct booking support and guest amenities including Wi‑Fi, kitchens, free parking, and washers.
